The Most Important Step When Writing Fiction

This "most important step" can be debated between many writers far and wide in this world. I say that to make it clear, this post is merely my opionin I gained through many of my own writing expirences.
I think the most important thing to have when writing any fictional stories is the character development. This is usually the largest and most important part of each story. During the character development you're literally interviewing your character/s. You find out their likes and dislikes, dreams and wishes, what they want in their lives and their capabilities, even their strengths and weaknesses.
To have a true character and story you must have personality and detail. Without the characterization your character is left bland and empty and the reader has more then enough questions constantly coming to mind when one thing or another occurs in your story.
Note: It's really important to link your traits and events etc. When you're stuck trying to figure something out about them such as their likes this back to what you've already written. If she/he loves Hecate the witchcraft goddess and she loves horror books, maybe her/his likes are scary movies or ghost tales.
I know this was kinda random and in reality I did not at all go over all I think I wanted to but seeing I'll be working on my writing skills throughout the summer I'm sure I'll bring in a few short tips every once in a while so I'll be able to tell you guys some more about things like creating the character, plot, etc. Hopefully I caught some writters attention with this post and I'll see you guys again later~ Love you guys Love~ Rose
